GUADALAJARA, Mexico, August 31, 2021. Opposite
hitter Gaila González of Dominican Republic
received the recognition as the Most Valuable
Player at the 2021 Women’s NORCECA Continental
Championship after her team won their second
consecutive title in Guadalajara, Mexico.
During the Awarding Ceremony, where Dominican
Republic was crowned NORCECA Champion, Puerto
Rico silver medalist and Canada bronze medalist,
Gaila González received the award of Most
Valuable Player and was also named the Best
Opposite and Best Scorer of the event.
Dominicans Prisilla Rivera and Bethania De La
Cruz received the awards as first and second
Outside Hitters respectively.
Puerto Rican Natalia Valentín was named the Best
Setter and her teammate Shara Venegas as Best
Libero and Best Receiver.
From United States Rachael Kramer was awarded as
the first Middle Blocker and Canadian Jennifer
Cross as second Middle Blocker.
María José Castro of Costa Rica was granted the
award of Best Digger and Mexican Jocelyn Urías
as Best Server.
