General Assembly of AFECAVOL receives Technical Report
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, February 27, 2015 - The General
Assembly of the Central American Volleyball Association AFECAVOL,
presided over by Marta Centeno Sajche and with the presence of
FIVB First Executive Vice-President and NORCECA President
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, received Technical Report corresponding
to 2014.
The assembly, consisting of two-day meetings on February 27-28
will evaluate the 2014 programs, events and activities, as well
as to elaborate the 2015 program of the National Federations
conforming AFECAVOL –Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala,
Honduras, Nicaragua y Panamá- .
Marta Centeno Sajche gave the welcoming words stating that “this
is the time to structure the 2015 program, which will contribute
to the development of volleyball in our region, making our tasks
much easier; I am grateful for the presence of Cristobal Marte,
who constantly supports us with his vast understanding in the
matter.”
Marte Hoffiz, in his first intervention said “we are not the
same as we were four years ago, I am passionate of my work and
we’ve made an enormous impact for the development in AFECAVOL,
as well as CAZOVA and ECVA, which I could attest as I gathered
information to prepare my report to you. The sacrifice and
efforts of your Federations is highly recognized by my
administration.”
The first day of sessions included AFECAVOL Presidency report,
where Centeno de Sajche described AFECAVOL championships,
Continental and Pan American events held in Central American
territory, the development program for the zone including
courses and visits from the Itinerant Instructor designated by
NORCECA, as well as the donation of sports equipment and Sport
Court surfaces.
“Our challenges are many, but especially that the seven
countries must participate in the regions championships, we need
to look for more resources thru regional partnerships,
strengthen each Federations relationship with their local
government, make an effort for exclusive volleyball venues in
each country and the establishment of a development center in
our region,” Centeno de Sajche said.
Financial reports were analyzed, where the valuable investment
from NORCECA and FIVB for AFECAVOL was reflected, which compels
the National Federations to work with more collaboration.
Professor Justo Morales was confirmed as Itinerant Instructor,
he will travel the whole year thru out the region, contributing
with technical assistance program by NORCECA.
