Germany outplays Dominican Republic
STUTTGART, Germany, June 11, 2019 – Host Germany defeated
Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-19, 14-25, 25-19, 25-21) to start the
fourth round of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on
Tuesday.
Louisa Lippman had a match-high 20 points for Germany followed
by Hanna Orthmann with 12 points in the victory. Bethania de la
Cruz was the best Dominican with 15 points while sisters Jineiry
and Brayelin Martínez finished with 12 and 10, respectively.
Germany improved to 4-6 and the Dominicans evened their win-loss
mark at 5-5.
Germany now has won 14 of 21 world level matches against the
Dominican Republic including the two matches in the VNL.
On Wednesday, Germany plays Belgium while Dominican Republic
faces Netherlands. |
