Gina Mancuso leads scoring in Puerto Rican League
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, March 1, 2017 – American Gina Mancuso is
the new scoring leader of the Puerto Rican Women’s Volleyball
Superior League.
Mancuso of Leonas de Ponce, has 197 to edge Mexican Andrea
Rangel of Orientales de Humacao who is in second place with 196
points. American Kyra Holt of Gigantes de Carolina is third with
179 and Paulina Prieto of Valencianas de Juncos is the top
native scorer with 167 points.
Mancuso is also the leader in attacks with 170 positive spikes
and fellow American Paige Tapp of Juncos is tops in blocks with
33 followed by Neira Ortiz of Capitalinas of San Juan with 31.
Rookie Karla Santos of Humacao is the best in direct points with
her serves totaling 20 aces while Stephanie Salas of Naranjito
is the best libero with 259 digs, 208 passes.
Glorimar Ortega of Naranjito is in first place among the setters
with 201 assists followed by Vilmarie Mojica of Juncos with 196.
Raymariely Santos of Mayaguez and Natalia Valentin of Ponce are
next with 191 and 190, respectively.
The sixth week of action kicks off on Wednesday with three
matches.
The undefeated Caguas (10-0, 30 points) travel to Humacao to
meet the Orientales (7-4, 17), Juncos (9-2, 26) faces San Juan
(3-8, 9) at Coliseo Roberto Clemente and Mayaguez (5-6, 16)
clashes with Aibonito (3-7, 9) at Coliseo Marron Aponte. |
