Glenn Hoag confirmed to coach Canada Men’s Team in 2020

OTTAWA, Canada, March 9, 2020 - Volleyball Canada is pleased to announce its men’s programme coaching staff for the 2020 season.

The senior team, which is qualified for the 2020 Olympics and set to participate in this year's edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, will be headed by veteran coach Glenn Hoag along with an experienced assistant staff of Gino Brousseau, Dan Lewis and Joao Paulo Bravo, who was previously with Canada’s junior team. The men’s team programme is based in Gatineau, Quebec.

"Once again, we have put together a great group of coaches and 2020 will be an exciting year for the men’s national team programme," said Julien Boucher, High Performance Director for Volleyball Canada’s indoor teams. "We thank all our coaches for their dedication to the programme as we prepare for Tokyo 2020 and beyond."

Bravo will also work with Lewis on the senior B team, which will consist of athletes shooting for future world and Olympic squads. Current Ryerson University head coach Matthew Harris will assist along with former national team member Chris Voth of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and currently coaching at Red River College.

The junior team will see Ryan Marsden of Alberta (head coach at Olds College) taking over as head coach. Marsden will be joined by assistants Ian Eibbitt (Coburg, Ontario), who is currently on the coaching staff at McMaster University in Hamilton, and Gabriel De Groot, originally of British Columbia, but currently working with the Queen’s University volleyball program in Kingston, Ontario.
