Championship
CASTRIES, Saint Lucia, May 3, 2026. – Grenada struck gold as the
2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior Women’s
Beach Volleyball Championship concluded on Sunday at Cul de Sac
courts in Saint Lucia.
Grenada claimed the top spot on the podium, while hosts Saint Lucia
and Dominica also secured medals.
The women’s gold‑medal
match delivered a thrilling three‑set
battle. Grenada’s Mitchell/Stafford edged Saint Lucia’s
Phillip/Joseph 2–1, with a final scoreline of 18–21, 21–19, 15–10.
After dropping the opening set, the Saint Lucian pair fought back to
force a decider, but Grenada’s consistency in side‑out
and composure under pressure carried them over the line.
Dominica’s Pascal/Burton secured the bronze medal with a hard‑fought
2–1 (21–15, 20–22, 15–8) victory over Saint Lucia’s Denila Prospere
/ Amalia Louis. The Dominican duo started strongly, weathered a
spirited Saint Lucian response in the second set, and then took
control in the tie‑breaker
to clinch a place on the podium.
