Guatemala and Nicaragua Prevail at the IV Central American
U-19 Beach Volleyball Championship
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, May 3, 2026 .–
In
two intense finals filled with drama and excitement, Guatemala’s
Manuel Estrada/Robin Oliva, along with Nicaragua’s Franchely
Alvarado/Ella Resau, captured the titles in the boy’s and girl’s
divisions, respectively, at the IV AFECAVOL Central American U-19
Beach Volleyball Championship.
In
the boy’s division, Estrada/Oliva proved to be the most consistent
pair of the tournament, prevailing in the final over Nicaragua’s
Edgar Holmann/Domingo Murillo 2-0 (21-17, 22-21).

PREMIACIÓN FINAL
During the preliminary round, Estrada/Oliva suffered a tough loss to
El Salvador but later bounced back with a crucial victory by handing
Nicaragua its first defeat.
“Nicaragua was a very strong team, but we knew how to take advantage
of their mistakes to secure the title,” said Guatemala’s Manuel
Estrada.
For third place, El Salvador’s Diego Barrera/Jacob Menjívar defeated
Honduras’ Jairo Gálvez/Isaac Méndez 2-0 (21-17, 22-20).
In the girl’s final, Nicaragua’s Franchely Alvarado/Ella Resau
overcame El Salvador’s Ashley Rauda/María Castañeda in a hard-fought
battle, winning 2-0 (21-16, 21-19).
With
this result, Alvarado/Resau completed an undefeated run to claim the
title in their category.
“We
never stopped fighting. We knew we had to give it our all and push
to the limit in the final to win. We feel very happy because we
worked very hard to achieve this title,” said Nicaragua’s Franchely
Alvarado.
Third place in the girl’s division went to Guatemala’s Mónica Cano/Marisabel
González, who defeated Honduras’ Eymy Baires/Ruth Villegas 2-0
(21-10, 21-9). |
