Jesús Hernández, Top scorer Guatemala: “Our
energy motivated us; we attacked with strength
against their blocking to score. Tomorrow to
beat Puerto Rico we need our fans' support, the
team’s commitment from our starters and bench
players and we need our setter to be focused”.
Luis Fernando Castañeda, Head Coach Guatemala: “We
made things difficult for Dominican Republic to
perform by working our serves in the first and
second sets. In the third they took advantage
from our failed serves; we recovered from a
four-point deficit in the fourth set using a
player that came off the bench, his excitement
spread throughout the rest of the team, he
contributed a lot”.
Amaury Martínez, Head Coach Dominican Republic: “We
failed in several things that were crucial in
the result, we failed in reception and we
couldn’t block, added that we missed many
serves. This is only one loss and tomorrow we
will try to win over Honduras to play the
quarterfinal round”. |
