Guatemala starts with victory

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, July 16, 2019 - Guatemala started with a 3-set victory to 0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-21) over El Salvador in the 18th Central American U-20 Women's Championship, which takes place at the Gym # 2 Jorge Galeano in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

The Guatemalans dominated the game in attack points (34-22), blocks (7-3) and services (11-4). El Salvador committed 23 errors while the Guatemalans made 21.

The top scorer for Guatemala and the match was Laura Cortez with 16 points, 14 of them in attacks and two in service. In the Guatemalan victory Frida Chavarría had 11 points and Jimena Castellanos with 10.

For its part, El Salvador had in its captain the best scorer as Daniela Sanchez made 8 points, supported by Jessica Arias and Daniela Lopez with 6 each.
