MANAGUA, Nicaragua, December 10, 2015 –Guatemala continued their
impressive run at the XVI U20 Women’s Central American
Championship winning 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-21) over Panama in
the fourth day of actions.
It was the third victory for Guatemala and the third loss for
the Panamanians. The Guatemalans got 31 points via attacks to 18
by Panama and also led in the blocking category 7-2 and in aces
8-4. The winners gave away 25 points via errors but benefited
from 29 from their opponents.
María Renee García, captain of Guatemala, finished with 12
points, followed by Martha Guillermo with 8 in a match where all
the players of the team received game time. For Panama, Yileen
Ng had 8 points.

relaxed and more calmed, without any kind of pressure to do what
we know. We also got more rhythm and we showed our abilities.”
Yileen Ng, captain of Panama: “We could catch the game of
Guatemala and lacked enthusiasm. You always need to have a good
attitude, winning or trailing. It is a new process for us and we
will continue moving forward.” |
