Guatemalans Leonardo & Garcia survive two three-setters
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 21, 2017 – Guatemalans Andy
Leonardo and Luis Garcia survived two battles of three sets each
as one of the three teams who scored a pair of victories in the
men’s side of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament on
Friday.
Leonardo and Garcia who reached the quarterfinals two weeks ago
in La Paz, Mexico, outplayed St Clair Hodge and Kemoroy Percival
of St Kitts & Nevis 2-1 (19-21, 21-15, 15-5) and Orlando
Irizarry and Juan Ribas of Puerto Rico 2-1 (21-15, 15-21, 15-9)
in Pool C.
In Pool A, Cubans Karell Peña and Daisel Quesada defeated
Maverick Hatch and Garrett May of Canada-B 2-0 (21-16, 21-19)
and Marlon Phillip and Daneil Williams of Trinidad & Tobago 2-0
(21-14, 21-12).
In Pool B, Mark Burik and William Kolinske of United States-A
won 2-0 (21-17, 21-12) over Aaron Nusbaum and Ryan Vandeburg of
Canada-A and 2-0 (21-11, 21-15) over compatriots Jon Mesko and
Skylar del Sol of United States-B.
