Haiti holds coach development course
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, November 26, 2014 - Volleyball coaches in
Haiti were provided with an opportunity to brush up on their
skills at a seminar led by FIVB Instructor André Glaive, in
association with the North, Central America & Caribbean
Confederation (NORCECA).
The seminar took place at the Haitian Olympic Centre, which was
inaugurated in July 2014 in the presence of Haiti’s President
H.E. Michel Martelly, International Olympic Committee President
Thomas Bach and FIVB President Dr.
Ary S. Graça F°.
The seminar focused on topics which were of particular interest
to the participants, including training routines related to the
middle blocker, setter and libero positions.
The course participants studied different ways for a team to
manage serve reception. Time was also allocated to discussing
how best to combine physical training with the demands of a
volleyball season. Points of theory were tested on court with
national team players involved in some of the exercises.
FIVB Instructor André Glaive completed his visit to Haiti by
meeting the president and members of the Haitian Volleyball
Federation. Discussions centred around issues related to coach
training and a programme for developing youth and senior teams. |
