Hard part has just begun: Kiraly
MODENA Italy, October 1, 2014 – USA have started a second round
with all the energy and strength, after a very important victory
in Turkey, that was decided in four sets.
However, for coach Karch Kiraly there were a lot of things to
improve. “We’ve worked hard at the service line and I think that
helped us tonight to be more effective at setting up our block
and defense,” said Kiraly.
“We saw Alicia Glass go on a really nice service run. We saw
Kelsey Robinson go on a really nice service run, breaking that
fourth set open. Lots of good things happening at the service
line and it was also very effective and a pivotal part of our
victory against Russia.”
American captain Christa Dietzen has emphasiked that there is
good to have a lot of players out of the bench contributing with
team’s success. “I think that’s huge going into this
homestretch. We are really excited to be undefeated, but you’ve
just got to continue to focus on the future,” she stated.
“There are so many good players in our USA gym who are
well-rounded in everything, so it’s a matter of them pushing me
to get better in different areas,” Kimberly Hill one of the top
scorers remarked.
Even before the second round started, Kiraly remarked the harder
part has just begun. “It has been a great, great battle, and
I've enjoyed it so much. Both teams played a very good
volleyball”, He remarked after finishing the Pool phase, when
the Americans defeated Russia.
“The championship has just begun, now we've to get ready for the
other matches, because we will face strong teams such as Brazil
and Serbia.” |
