Harrigan and Dixon elected to NORCECA Board
TIJUANA, Mexico, November 3, 2013 – Wilbur Harrigan and
Warrenton Dixon, of Antigua & Barbuda and Jamaica, respectively,
were elected to the NORCECA Board of Administration on Saturday.
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA, made the
announcement at the end of the first day of sessions of the XXII
NORCECA Congress at Grand Hotel Tijuana.
Both Harrigan and Dixon will be part of the representatives of
ECVA and CAZOVA in the Board and were selected by their
colleagues from the zones which group National Federations each
from 13 countries.
“With the selection of Harrigan and Dixon all the four zones
within NORCECA have equal representation in the board,” Marte
Hoffiz said. “This way our decisions are completely fair and
democratic which is the purpose of every transparent
institution.”
Harrigan has served as president of Antigua National Volleyball
Federation for many years and has assisted with the development
of volleyball in the Caribbean region.
Harrigan is managing partner of PKF Chartered Accountants in his
native country and has been honored by the Queen of England for
his work in the field of his profession in the Leeward Islands.
Dixon, a Major of the Army in Jamaica, presided over the Jamaica
Volleyball Association for the past four years.
Dixon has been instrumental in the development of beach
volleyball and volleyball in Jamaica, implementing a beach
volleyball league and establishing a school program of
volleyball. |
