Hato Mayor Organizers paid tribute to Dominican Team
HATO MAYOR, November 1, 2019 – The Organizing Committee of
the Hato Mayor Beach Volleyball Tournament at Rancho Doña
Callita paid tribute to the Women's Volleyball Team of the
Dominican Republic in recognition of their gold medals at
the Pan American Games in Lima and the NORCECA Continental
Championship as well as their multiple international
victories.
Senator Rubén Darío Cruz, president of the OC presented a
plaque to the team known as The Queens of the Caribbean
during the official opening ceremony of the beach volleyball
competition. The coach of the team, Marcos Kwiek represented
the team as recipient of the plaque, accompanied by his
assistant Wagner Pacheco.
The Dominican players were received with a good hand of
applause and cheering from the crowd in the stands.
Camile Dominguez, one of the setters of the national team,
spoke on behalf of her teammates to thank for the
hospitality and the recognition.
Senator Cruz, was accompanied by the governors of the
provinces of Hato Mayor and El Seibo and Ramón García,
president of the Dominican Republic Volleyball Federation.
The members of the Dominican team arrived to Rancho Doña
Callita three hours before the official ceremony and had the
chance to watch some beach volleyball matches and exchange
with the athletes during lunch time.
