Highly Successful FIVB Board Of Administration Meeting Concludes In
Dominican Republic
Updates to the composition of the FIVB Athletes’ Commission were also
approved
The FIVB Board of Administration, led by FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça
F°, today concluded its productive three-day gathering in Punta Cana,
Dominican Republic with a number of important topics discussed.
During the meeting, the members received comprehensive updates on
Volleyball World from its CEO, Finn Taylor. He highlighted the
remarkable success of the ongoing VNL 2023, with a notable 50% increase
in attendance compared to last year's edition, as well as substantial
growth in OTT subscribers since the beginning of the event.
In addition, the Board discussed and approved a number of proposals from
the FIVB Commissions and Councils.
Beach volleyball Olympian Doaa Elghobashy from Egypt is now part of the
Athletes’ Commission
In particular, the FIVB Board of Administration approved, with immediate
effect, the following proposals of the Athletes’ Commission:
1) For Simone Anzani (ITA) to substitute resigned Samuele Papi (ITA) as
an Athletes’ Commission Member
2) For Sam Deroo (BEL) to substitute Samuele Papi (ITA) as the Athletes’
Commission Secretary
3) For Doaa Elghobashy (EGY) to substitute resigned Anouk Verge-Depre as
an Athletes’ Commission Member.
World champion, Simone Anzani joins the FIVB Athletes’ Commission
Moreover, Kare Mol (NOR), a head coach of the Norwegian Vikings, Anders
Mol and Christian Sorum, joins the Technical and Coaching Commission as
an observer representing beach volleyball.
During the meeting, the Presidents of all five Continental
Confederations presented their projects for the years 2023-2024, while
updates on volleyball and beach volleyball events were also shared,
including the Olympic Games Paris 2024. |
