Holt and Larson named USA Players of the Year
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, December 14, 2016 – Max Holt and
Jordan Larson have been named Male and Female Indoor Player of
the Year, respectively, by USA Volleyball.
Holt, 29, was the second-leading blocker of the Olympic Games
with 20 blocks and was also second among all servers with 12
aces. He scored on 45 kills (.538 hitting efficiency) to put him
13th among
all Olympic scorers.
Holt also played a key role in the bronze-medal match victory
over Russia in five sets, scoring 13 points, including a
team-leading three aces.
Larson was selected for the second consecutive year. She has now
played in consecutive Olympic Games, winning two medals (silver
in 2012 and bronze in 2016).
During the 2016 Olympics, Larson averaged 2.69 kills, 0.34
blocks and 0.28 aces per set with an overall 3.31 points
average. She converted 41.5 percent of her attacks into points
with a .295 hitting efficiency. |
