Honduras Central American Champion Under 21
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, July 20, 2019 - Honduras defeated Belize
3-0 (25-20, 25-20 and 25-15) and was crowned in the 18th Central
American Women's U-20 Championship, which takes place in Gym # 2
Jorge Galeano from Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
The Honduran team has won the championship for the first time in
the history of this category, which has been disputed since
1981. Costa Rica has won it 9 times, Guatemala 5 and Panama 2
times. In 2001, it was not carried out.
The game between Honduras and Belize was pretty even, without an
overwhelming dominance of either side. In attacks Honduras
dominated (36-23), in services also dominated Honduras with
(12-8) and in blocks dominated Belize (6-3).
As in all the meetings of these two teams, the scorers Nathalie
Pérez stood out for Honduras with 27 points; and for Belize,
Gareth Bruce with 13 and Fatoumata Camara with 11 points. |
