The captain of Honduras, Jonathan Meza, said that “we
certainly expected to win this game, we knew about the
limitations of Belize, which is not a team as tough as Costa
Rica or Guatemala, and we are aware of the mistakes we made
in the first game. We have been able to overcome the
pressure of being new, but we are more united as the
tournament progresses. We put emphasis on the service and it
worked for us before Belize. ”
The assistant coach of Honduras, Miguel Pagoaga, said that
“we are very happy with the performance in these first
games, now we will try to get the best result with teams
that are better placed in the ranking because the hardest is
coming. We know our weaknesses and always remain aware of
the physical and mental state of our team. ”
Honduras will face Nicaragua this Thursday at 7:30 p.m.,
while Belize plays against Guatemala at 3:00 p.m.
