                Honduras defeats El Salvador to remain unbeaten  
                
                  
                
                TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, December 7, 2014 - Hosts Honduras 
                defeated El Salvador in straight sets 25-15, 25-23, 25-15 to 
                remain unbeaten at the XVIII Men’s Central American Cup at Jorge 
                Galeano Gymnasium in Tegucigalpa. 
                
                  
                
                The home team had complications in a second thrilling and well 
                battled set, with El Salvador taking the lead; but Honduras 
                dominated El Salvador with strong offensive and defensive line 
                over the net with huge advantage of 46-20 in kills and 11-5 in 
                blocking. 
                
                  
                
                Honduras has a perfect record of 3-0 and fifteen points to lead 
                the competition, and El Salvador remains win-less 0-2. 
                 
                
                  
                
                Outside hitter Evans Torres topped Honduras with 17 points, all 
                in kills, opposite player Jorge Medina scored 15 points and 
                middle blocker Wilfredo Lopez scored 11 points. El Salvador had 
                in Francisco Hernandez their leading scorer with 8 points. 
                
                  
                
                “We’re glad that things are turning out as planned, without 
                extending the matches and trying not to exceed our efforts to 
                reach our next performances more relaxed. We know that our next 
                adversaries are difficult, but I trust my team and our 
                preparation, we’ll have to study their strengths and flaws to 
                establish our strategy,” said Captain Evans Torres.  
                
                  
                
                El Salvador’s captain Francisco Hernandez explained: “Like in 
                other occasions, our lack of concentration cost us the match, it 
                wasn’t’ easy facing the home team, which made it more difficult 
                to uphold our poise. We always have the desire of winning and to 
                make a good performance, we have to correct details for better 
                results”.  |
