Intense Week in the LVP MX Women’s League: Regular Round
and Rescheduled Matches Shape the Competition
MEXICO, March 10, 2026.- The Mexican Women’s Professional Volleyball
League (LVP MX) experienced an intense weekend of action with
matches from the regular round, while additional rescheduled games
will also be played this week that will be key in determining the
standings.
The
action began with Guerreras defeating Freseras 3-1 (25-22, 27-25,
20-25, 25-21). Guerreras managed to prevail in the tightest moments
of the match to secure the victory in four sets. Chalina Lederer was
named the Most Valuable Player of the match. Play continued on March
8 with another matchup between Guerreras and Freseras, where
Guerreras earned a straight-sets victory, 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-14),
showing consistency throughout the match. Ivy May Vila Wittingham
was named the Most Valuable Player.
In
another matchup, Coronelas defeated Leonas in straight sets 3-0
(25-21, 32-30, 25-20). The second set was particularly competitive
and was decided in extra points before Coronelas tipped the balance
in their favor. Michelle Alejandra Lizárraga González was recognized
as the MVP of the match. In their following contest, Coronelas and
Leonas played a five-set battle in which Coronelas ultimately
secured the win 3-2 (21-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 15-10). Yajaira
Castro was named the match MVP.
Gigantes also played one of the closest matches of the round,
defeating Tapatías in five sets, 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-21, 19-25,
15-13). The match was decided in the decisive set after a constant
exchange of momentum between both teams. Angie Melisa Velásquez Vega
was named the Most Valuable Player. To close the round, Tapatías
defeated Gigantes 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 20-25, 22-25), a result that
allowed them to add important points in the standings. Seomara Sainz
was named the Most Valuable Player of the match, earning her eighth
MVP recognition of the season.
This
week’s activity will continue with rescheduled matches on Wednesday,
March 11, when Leonas face Guerreras and Gigantes host Freseras,
games that will be important in further shaping the league
