TIJUANA, Mexico, October 21, 2015 - The International Level II
Seminar for Volleyball Coaches was officially inaugurated at the
FIVB Development Center in Baja California.
The opening ceremony took place with presence of two prominent
instructors with extensive coaching experience such as Brazilian
Antonio Neto Rizola and Cuban Jorge Perez Vento.
For 11 days the attendants will have the chance to upgrade their
knowledge in terms of preparing teams and strategies.
On behalf of the Sports Institute General Director, Saul Castro
Verdugo, the High Performance Cirector, Cesar Osuna Brambila,
welcomed all the participants.
Along with Osuna, some of the Sports Institute authorities who
were present at the ceremony were Jorge Almada, Promotion and
Image Director, as well as FIVB Member and Development Center
Coordinator, Alberto Arreola.
Representatives from eight countries, such as Argentina, Belize,
Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico and Trinidad and
Tobago began their preparation.
"We appreciate the presence of all of you who are part of the
great family of volleyball, we are confident that you will get
the best from this course here, where we have two prominent
personalities with great international experience," explained
Osuna Brambila.
"We have a person who has been a major figure in volleyball, and
considered one of the best setters in a world championship, and
also was an Olympic medalist in the 1976 Montreal Games," Osuna
said about the experience of Perez Vento, who had previously
worked in Baja California when he came to prepare some young
players who are part of the state program.
"We also have a great friend who has been characterized as a
great manager, coach and a leader in Brazilian volleyball like
Antonio Rizola. We have had a major international exchange to
send our selected teams to Saquarema" he added.
The activities are both theoretical and practical. The seminar
will culminate on November first. This is the third
international course held in 2015 at the Baja California center,
after the one that took place during the Norceca meetings in
January, and the Level I Seminar, held last May. |
