International Level II Volleyball Course begins at NORCECA/FIVB Development Center

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 19th, 2023.- With the participation of 18 coaches from eight countries, the NORCECA / FIVB Regional Volleyball Development Center started a course for Level II Volleyball Coaches, which is conducted by FIVB instructor Francis Cruz Jimenez from Cuba.

The opening ceremony had in attendance different sports authorities from Dominican Republic including Dominican Olympic Committee president, Eng. Garibaldi Bautista.

During his speech, Mr. Bautista encouraged the participants to “take advantage of the course and obtain the maximum knowledge in order to apply them in the development of the sport in their countries taking into consideration that volleyball is one of the most important sports in the Olympic program”.

Also, he took the opportunity to highlight the work done by the development center and to congratulate the Dominican Republic Volleyball Federation (FEDOVOLI) for the three medals earned at the Central American and Caribbean Games 2023.

Amos Anglade, FEDOVOLI vice-president, expressed “I feel very proud of the couches, and I wish you to improve your technical level and get the knowledge needed to prepare better athletes.

The five-day course consists of a series of practical and theoretical exercises and will conclude with evaluations of each participant directed by experienced FIVB instructor Francis Cruz Jimenez.
