SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 15, 2015 – Mexican
Alejandra Isiordia and Puerto Rican Daly Santana have been the
most outstanding players at the young history of the U20 Pan
American Cup whose third edition kicks off in Santo Domingo on
Sunday.
Santana and Isiordia share the record for most points in a
single match with 27 against Chile and Dominican Republic,
respectively, in 2013 when the competition took place in Havana,
Cuba.
Also in 2013, Santana set the mark of more serving aces in a
match with 11 against Costa Rica while Isiordia recorded 120
points topping all the scorers.
Colombia’s Ivonne Montaño has the record for more blocks in a
match with 8 against Peru in 2013.
Isiordia was recipient of the most valuable player honor in 2013
while Peruvian Brenda Uribe was named in 2011.
Mexico won over Colombia (30-28) the highest scoring set in the
history of the competition while Puerto Rico triumphed against
Chile in the highest scoring match when both teams totaled 212
