BRASILIA, Brazil, June16, 2022 – Italy won a
five-set duel against Dominican Republic 3-2
(25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 16-25, 15-12) in a match
corresponding to the FIVB Women’s Volleyball
Nations League on Thursday.
Anastasia Guerra led Italy with 17 points while
Sylvia Nwakalor and Carlotta Degradi each added
11 points in the victory. Sara Bonifacio and
Paola Egonu tallied 8 apiece.
Yonkaira Peña was the top scorer for the
Dominicans with 20 points followed by Brayelin
Martínez and Gaila González with 17 and 16,
respectively. Jineiry Martínez had 11 points in
the loss.
Italy improved their overall record to 4-2 and
the Dominican Republic dropped to 1-5. |
