Jamaica League to
Start next Friday
KINGSTON, Jamaica, March 5,
2019 – The Volleyball Club League of Jamaica is scheduled to
start on March 8 with the participation of 16 teams -11 men’s
and 5 women’s.
Jackie Cowan, General
Secretary of Jamaica Volleyball Association (JaVA) made the
announcement of the good news.
The JaVA organized a one-day
rally in order to build awareness and excitement ahead of the
start of the league.
A total of 13 teams (9 men and
4 Women) participated in the rally with GC Foster Colleges Men
and Women emerging as champions on a day which was filled with
fun.
Cowan said to be pleased that
the league will see two new entrants this year, St. Ann
Renegades and Allman Town VC, which shows that more person’s
desire to play competitive volleyball.
Additional teams will give
JaVA a wider pool in which to scout for its various national
programs. |
