Janelly Ceopa the Most Valuable Player at U18 Pan Am Cup
DURANGO, Mexico, May 26, 2019. - Peruvian Janelly Ceopa was
selected as the Most Valuable Player of the fifth Girls’ U18 Pan
American Cup playing an important role in her team’s golden
finish at Auditorio del Pueblo of Durango, Mexico.
Outside hitter Janelly Ceopa received the MVP recognition during
the awarding ceremony where her team was crowned the U18 Pan
American Champion defeating Puerto Rico 3-0 (26-24, 25-16,
25-22).
From the silver medalists Puerto Rico, Kiaralyz Perez received
three recognitions as Best Libero, Best Receiver and Best
Digger.
Players from the host team Mexico that finished as bronze
medalists received the awards for Best Setter and Best Server
granted to Gloria Ung, while Melanie Parra was the Best Scorer
of the event and Second Best Spiker. Also, Marian Ovalle was
handed the award for Best Opposite.
Dominicans Flormarie Heredia and Esthefany Rabit were recognized
the awards for Best Spiker and Best Blocker accordingly.
Dominican Republic finished in sixth place.
Chilean Elisa Sandrok received the award for Second Best
Blocker.
