Japan defeated Dominican Republic 3-1

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana, June 4, 2022 – Japan defeated Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 25-10) in a match corresponding to the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League.

It was the fourth consecutive loss for the Dominican side who has not been able to use their star player Brayelin Martinez due to a sore knee.

Japanese Arisa Inoue had a match-high 26 points in the victory followed by Sarina Koga who finished with 19 points.

Yonkaira Peña and Gaila Gonzalez topped the scoring for the Dominican Republic with 19 and 14 points, respectively. Madeline Guillen and Geraldine Gonzalez each had 8 points in the losing cause.
