OSAKA, Japan, July 8, 2022 – Japan defeated
Canada 3-1 (25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 25-20) while
improving to 8-2 win-loss record at the FIVB
Men’s Volleyball Nations League.
Yuki Ishikawa was the top scorer for Japan with
19 points, including 4 aces, followed by Yuji
Nishida with 18. Taishi Onodera added 10 points
in the victory.
Canada’s Stephen Timothy Maar registered 20
points in the losing cause while Brodie Hofer
and Mathias Elser each had 10 points.
Japan took advantage of 31 unforced errors by
Canada. In the other scoring categories, the
stats were very similar with Japan leading in
blocks 5-4 and Canada in serves 8-7. |
