Japan sweeps Canada in VNL

RIMINI, Italy, June 7, 2021 – Japan beat Canada 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15) in a women’s volleyball contest at the FIVB Nations League.

The Japanese, playing text-book volleyball, only committed 10 unforced errors in the whole match to 24 by the Canadians.

The winners held a 41-25 overwhelming advantage in attacks and also dominated in serving aces 6-2. The taller Canadians held the margin in bocks 9-4.

Ai Kurogo and Mayu Ishikawa each contributed 13 points to the victory of Japan while Nichika Yamada added 10.            

Kiera Van Ryk and Shainah Joseph finshed with 9 and 7 points, respectively, for Canada.
