Jeff Ptak calls off his career
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, February 2, 2017 – Only a few foreign
players manage to transcend beyond the season or seasons they
play in the different leagues around the world, but that was not
the case of American Jeff Ptak in Puerto Rico.
Ptak announced on Wednesday his definitive retirement of
professional Volleyball after an Achilles tendon injury left him
out of action at Honda Cup of the Men's Superior Volleyball
Final Series with the San Sebastian Caribs team.
During his time in Puerto Rico, Ptak has dressed the colors of
Ponce, Corozal, Mayagüez and San Sebastián in the LVSM, winning
the scoring title and the MVP awards in 2007 and 2015.
He was a big tank in the court and a gentleman out of it, which
earned him the affection of the fans and the respect of his
opponents on the other side of the net.
On behalf of the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation, its
president Dr. Cesar Trabanco and the volleyball fans in Puerto
Rico we can only say THANK YOU JEFF. |
