U.S. Virgin Islands to face Mexico in first match

TIJUANA, México, July 1, 2012 - The arrival of coach Mark Daniel to Baja California wasn’t something new. In fact a couple of months earlier he had participated in the Data Volley Seminar held at the High Performance Center.

That participation helped him a lot to achieve new experiences with a young team that makes him to feel proud about after working so hard.

“This is my second visit to Tijuana, I was at the Data Volley Course,” he said. “For my team is the first one, but in this kind of tournament we had the first chance previously in another tournament in Miami.”

Mark has to face some challenges, but each one has been a special opportunity.

“We did not finish very well in that tournament (in Miami) but this time we are optimistic,” Mark added. “We have been training for long time and despite a few challenges we are facing, we will be able compete.”

Their captain (Nayib Gonzalez) will have limited time of play as well as some others of the starting members of the teams due to injuries. “Any way we have enough confidence in having a  good competition”, remarked Daniel.
