Sander wins MVP honors
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, July 14, 2012 - Taylor
Sander, who heavily contributed to the gold
medal won by USA team in the VII Men´s Pan American Cup, was
selected as Most Valuable Player of the event that concluded
here on Saturday night.
The 20 year-old Sander was not alone in the closing ceremony as
two other teammates were recipients of individual awards.
Antonio Ciarelli was named the best attacker and Dustin Waltter
the best digger.
Towering Jose Caceres of Dominican Republic was the best ñV 78VV
of the eigh-team competition and teammate Elvis Contreras took
the trophies as best server and best receiver. Another
Dominican, Edwin Peguero, was selected as best libero.
The list of individual awards was completed by Mexico’s Pedro
Rangel as best setter and Marc Honore of Trinidad and Tobago as
best blocker.
Final positions: 1. USA, 2, Argentina, 3. Dominican
Republic, 4. Brazil, 5. Mexico, 6. Canada, 7. Venezuela, 8.
Trinidad and Tobago.
