Easy victory of Peru over Costa Rica
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico, July 14 2012 — Brenda Daniela Uribe
tallied 19 points, including 4 aces to lead the victory of Peru
over Costa Rica 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-15) at the XI Women’s Pan
Am Cup.
Peruvian Carla Rueda (11) and Clarivet Yllescas and Mirtha Uribe
each with 10 points finished in double figures. Costa Rica’s
captain Verania Willis converted 12.
“Peru worked hard with the service. We lost our focus and they
played very well against us,” said Willis.
“We improved our service and have increased our level match by
match, also in receiving every service. Even though it is a
young team, the girls are getting experience,” Peruvian captain
Elena Keldibekova stated.
“Peru limited us a lot, they had a good scheme and affected our
game plan,” Costa Rica’s coach, Xavier Perales commented.
“Costa Rica is not an easy opponent but we watched a lot of
videos on them. Once they start playing they give battle to
anyone,” remarked the Peruvian coach Edwin Jimenez about the
match that lasted only 58 minutes. |
