Dominican Republic to battle with Cuba
 

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico, July 4, 2011 - Dominican Republic defeated Mexico 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-15) in Monday’s last match in Pool A to maintain its spotless record at 4-0.

Milagros Cabral led the winners with 9 points while Bethania de la Cruz, Dahiana Burgos and Lisvel Eve each had 8. Mexicans Claudia Rios and Martha Revuelta finished with 11 and 10 points respectively.

“It was not our best game of the tournament,” Dominican Cabral said. “Tomorrow we have an important match against Cuba. We played them twice in China last month with split results.”

“Playing against strong teams will be helpful for our team,” Mexican Revuelta said. “I hope this experience should help us in tomorrow’s match against Argentina.”
