Canada in seventh place at Pan Am Cup
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico, July 9, 2011 - Canada beat Peru 3-0
(25-21, 25-22, 25-19) to finish in seventh place at the 10th
Pan American Women’s Volleyball Cup 2011.
Sarah Pavan was Canada´s best player with a high-match 25 points
and Kyla Richey added 12. Peruvian Diana Soto scored 16 in the
losing cause. Canada out-blocked Peru 14-5.
Sarah Pavan said: “I’m proud how we respond today, much better
than what we did yesterday and we leave the tournament with a
good feeling.”
“My team was unrecognizable, we made too many mistakes. I hope
that we can work on them for the future,” said Peruvian Diana
Soto.
Arnd Ludwig, Canadian coach indicated: “This was by far the best
match we had in the Cup as I expected much more of my team.”
“Canada had a better distribution of the game than what we could
have studied them by video; Sarah Pavan was really good,” Peru’s
Luca Cristofani said. |
