Argentina withdraws from U-20 Pan Am Cup
LIMA, Peru, June 16, 2011 – Argentina won’t participate in the
U-20 Women’s First Pan American Volleyball Cup that begins on
Thursday at Miguel Grau Coliseum of Lima.
The Argentinean side announced its withdrawal forced by the
impossibility of making the air trip from their country caused
by the cloud of ash spewing from a volcano in Chile that has
forced thousands of passengers to remain grounded at Buenos
Aires’s main airports.
With the absence of Argentina, Pool B will be composed only by
the teams of Costa Rica, Cuba and Dominican Republic.
Participants in Pool A are the sides of El Salvador, Mexico,
Peru and Venezuela.
