LA ROMANA, Dominican Republic, August 24, 2015 – An
International Volleyball Course for Teachers gathered 54
participants in La Romana under the auspices of the National
Institute of Physical Education in collaboration with NORCECA
Confederation.
The course took place from August 18 to 21 organized by the
NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center in the Dominican
Republic with Jose Diaz as the instructor.
NORCECA Confederation donated 100 balls to be utilized in the
development of the school programs destined to volleyball.
Nelson Ramirez, director of the Development Center, attended the
opening ceremony of the course accompanied by Manuel Morel, vice
director of the institute, Felicia Doñé, eastern regional
director, Vicente Paniagua, coordinator of the institute for
volleyball, and Amos Anglada, member of the Dominican Volleyball
Federation.
Morel expressed gratitude to the Regional Development Center and
the International Volleyball Federation for the big support to
the physical education teachers throughout the different
programs and courses he considered as very important for the
development of volleyball in schools.
Diaz mentioned the importance of the course as a tool to provide
the young students with the basic knowledge of the game starting
from the grass root level.
Ramirez closed the ceremony thanked FIVB and NORCECA for the
opportunity of giving back to the society and the physical
education teachers all the experience he has accumulated in more
than 35 years of his career. |
