Leonas de Ponce Dominate at Home and Reach

Fourth Place in the LVSF

PONCE, Puerto Rico, March 5, 2026. – In the only match on Thursday’s schedule in the Women’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSF), Leonas de Ponce successfully defended their Salvador Dijols court by defeating Valencianas de Juncos 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23), claiming the three points available from the match and moving into a tie for fourth place in the standings with the Atenienses de Manatí.

Holding a 2-0 lead in sets and having reached set point at 24-19 following an attack by Kristin Lux, Leonas had to withstand a strong push from the Valencianas to close out the victory in a tight finish.

Juncos responded with a 4-0 run that included two attack errors by Lux from zone two, a successful spike by Alannis Oramas from zone four, and an ace by Isabelle Morgan, bringing the score to 24-23 still in favor of Ponce. However, on the next play Stephanie Enright delivered an effective attack from zone four to seal the set.

With the three points earned, Ponce ties Manatí with an identical record of 6-10 and 19 accumulated points. Juncos, meanwhile, remains at the bottom of the standings with a 5-12 record and 15 points.

For Leonas, four players finished in double figures: Jordan Wilson, Kristin Lux, Stephanie Enright and Jenselyn Morales with 18, 14, 11 and 10 points, respectively. For the Valencianas, Haley Bush recorded 11 points, all on attacks.

In team statistics, Ponce dominated 48-37 in attacks, 12-8 in assists and 8-2 in blocks. Both teams registered four service aces and 73 digs, while Juncos held the edge in receptions, 28-26.

Action in this eighth week of the LVSF continues Friday with two matches on the schedule: the Criollas de Caguas (8-9, 25 points, third place) visit the Atenienses de Manatí (6-10, 19 points, fourth place) at the Juan Aubín Cruz Coliseum starting at 8:30 p.m.

The other match will be at the Rafael G. Amalbert court, where the Cangrejeras de Santurce will visit the Valencianas de Juncos, also at 8:30 p.m.
