SAN
JOSE, Costa Rica, October 16, 2015 – A two-week Level II Coaches
Course concluded in Costa Rica with the participants going
through more than 90 hours of practical and theoretical
instructions covering topics such as setting and blocking,
statistics analysis, beach volleyball, physical preparation and
scouting talent.
The
course was organized by the Costa Rican Volleyball Federation in
collaboration with the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center
in the Dominican Republic.
The
course supervisor Argelio Hernandez of Cuba, expressed his
satisfaction at the closing ceremony that included the
presentation of certificates to 17 Costa Ricans who completed
the course as well as several participants from other countries.
“We
have gone through a very demanding course and I feel very
satisfied,” Hernandez said. “I hope the product of your hard
work can contribute to improve the level of volleyball in the
country.”
Costa
Rican Arturo Solano, Mexican Bryan Miranda and Chilean Mario
Cardenas received special recognitions as the most outstanding
participants.
“It
has been a rich experience and we all have learned a lot,”
Cardenas said. “Now I am going back to Chile with recharged
batteries to try to be a better coach every day.”
Jose
Luis Jimenez Lao, secretary general of the Central American
Association of Volleyball Federations (AFECAVOL) and vice
president of the Costa Rican Federation expressed his gratitude
to NORCECA and FIVB for choosing Costa Rica to host the
important course that will contribute the improvement and
expansion of volleyball in the country and the region. |
