Leyva and Moreno join the 30-point Club

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 5, 2016 – Peruvian Angela Leyva and Colombian Kenny Moreno became the ninth and tenth players in the history of the Women’s Pan American Cup to reach the 30-point plateau in a single game.

 

Leyva recorded 32 in Peru’s 3-1 victory over Trinidad & Tobago while Moreno amassed 31 in the victory of Colombia over Mexico in five sets.

 

Leyva tied Mexican Samantha Bricio for the third highest total in the list of top scorers and now trails only USA’s Kristin Richards (35) and Dominican Repúblic’s Sidarka Núñez (37).

 

The Dominican Nuñez, a left-handed outside hitter, established the record against United States on May 30, 2008 in the seventh edition of the event in Mexico.
