MANAGUA, Nicaragua, October 16 2021. - The
twenty-first edition of the Women’s Volleyball
Central American Cup will be held in Managua,
Nicaragua from October 17-23 at Alexis Argüello
Multisport Complex.
With the seven Central American countries, the
event marks the return to international indoor
volleyball competitions for AFECAVOL.
After a vibrant finish in the past edition in
2018 in Belize, where Costa Rica after falling
to the host team, had to depend on a combination
of results in the last day of competition to win
their 14th title in a row; Costa Rica
has won 17 titles in the history of the event.
While Belize, achieved a historic feat, reaching
the Central American podium for the first time
after winning the silver medal.
Historically, only Panama and Honduras have won
the Central American title, Panama on two
occasions (1974, 1976) and Honduras once in
1991.
