Centeno de Sajche re-elected President of AFECAVOL
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, December 15, 2014 – Marta Centeno Sajche
of Guatemala was re-elected as President of AFECAVOL for the
period 2015-2018 period by the unanimous vote of the national
federation members.
The presidents of the national federations of Central America
held an Extraordinary Assembly of the institution for the
election of the Executive Committee on the occasion of the XVIII
Men’s Central American Cup.
NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, First Executive Vice
President of FIVB, attended the ceremony and administered the
oath of office to Centeno de Sajche and her colleagues.
The rest of the members of the new executive committee are:
Bertha Cuadra of Nicaragua, 1st Executive Vice-President; Allan
Sharp of Belize, 2nd Executive Vice-President; Luis Enrique
Santis of Guatemala, Treasurer; Felix Sabio of Honduras, 1st
Director; Oscar Valdez of El Salvador, 2nd Director; Jose Luis
Jimenez of Costa Rica, 3rd Director; and Carlos Quintana of
Panama, 4th Director.
Centeno Sajche appointed Jiménez Lao as General Secretary and
Edgar Alvarado Ardon of Costa Rica, attended the Assembly as
AFECAVOL Honorary President.
“I am pleased with Marta Centeno’s efforts during the years, in
supporting the restructure of our Confederation and let’s
applaud the fact that she assumes the Presidency once again,”
Marte Hoffiz said.
Centeno de Sajche expressed: “I appreciate the confidence you’ve
given me to conduct the Central American Association for four
years more, I am committed in our joint efforts with the mission
of continuing the development and improvement of our sport in
the area".
As president of AFECAVOL, Centeno de Sajche will continue as one
of the Vice Presidents of NORCECA Confederation. Sabio was voted
to represent AFECAVOL in the NORCECA Executive Committee and
Centeno de Sajche announced they will nominate Jimenez Lao to
continue as General Secretary of the continental institution.
Sabio, a lawyer by profession, is representative to the Honduran
Congress and vice president of the Honduran Sport Confederation. |
