Marte Hoffiz re-elected FIVB First Vice President
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, December 8, 2016 – Dominican
Republic’s Cristobal Marte Hoffiz has been re-elected as First
Vice President of FIVB, a position the president of NORCECA
Confederation has held since 2008.
The decision was adopted by the Board of Administration during
its last meetings of the year held at the organization’s
headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland this week.
Serbia’s Aleksandar Boricic will act as Second Vice President
while Paraguay’s Roberto Escobar was appointed as FIVB
Treasurer.
“I am elated by the support received from my colleagues and the
FIVB President Dr. Ary
Graça,” Marte Hoffiz said from Lausanne. “The election means a
lot to me and it reinforces my commitment to continue working
for the best of our sport and the goal to make volleyball the
number one family entertainment sport in the world.”
Marte Hoffiz said to be particularly proud of the development
program of NORCECA Confederation which was commented and praised
during the meetings.
Guatemala’s Marta Centeno de Sajche and Mushtaque Mohammed of
Trinidad and Tobago were appointed as president and secretary,
respectively, of the Development Commission, while Puerto Rico’s
Jaime Lamboy will preside over the Legal Commission.
Dominican Republic’s Dr. Jose Joaquin Puello will continue as
chairman of the Ethics Panel and Sabinah Clement of British
Virgin Islands was appointed as member of the Disciplinary
Panel.
Also, Glenn Quinlan of St Kitts and Nevis, president of the
Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Zone, was introduced among of the
new members of the Board of Administration who were elected
during the FIVB World Congress held in Buenos Aires, Argentina
last October. |
