Pools composition defined for Chiapas

CHIAPAS, Mexico, May 13, 2011 – The final composition of pools for the double gender NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tournament at Puerto Arista Beach was announced during the General Technical Meeting held on Thursday night.

The pool play will allow the seeding of the teams in the single elimination main bracket, informed Arnaldo Sanchez, Director of the competition.

Ismael Acosta, President of the Mexican Volleyball Federation, welcomed the athletes from twelve countries participating in the last tournament that grants points to the rankings towards the Pan American Games.

The Chiapas event is the fourth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit. The Pan American Games are scheduled for next October in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The players taking part in Chiapas come from Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago and United States of America.

Pool A: Mexico-1, Guatemala, Trinidad & Tobago. Pool B: Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua. Pool C: Canada-1, Dominican Republic, Cayman Islands, Mexico-2. Pool D: United States, Cuba, Honduras, Canada-2.
