Varadero Club Kawama Hotel, site of sixth NORCECA
stage
Havana, Cuba, May 22, 2012 - The very old Club Kawama Hotel and
its surrounding sandy beaches at Varadero will play hosts to the
sixth stage of the Beach Volleyball Circuit 2012 for the North,
Central American and Caribbean Confederation slated on next June
8-10.
The event first included the Cuba last year, precisely at the
famous international beach resort located north of the province
of Matanzas, 150 kilometers east of the Cuban capital city. The
round was a complete success with victories for the local pairs
in both genders.
In this opportunity, there is a unique incentive to the
competition, which shall serve as a warm-up event for the men
and women teams set to compete in the final round of the NORCECA
Continental Cup, an Olympic Qualifier to take place in Mazatlan,
in the Pacific coastline of Mexico from June 19 to 24. The
winners of the competition will be granted tickets to the Beach
Volleyball Tournament of the London Games.
The Varadero round shall account for nearly halfway of this
fourth Circuit, considering six or seven more of these are
scheduled in Puerto Rico, United States, Trinidad & Tobago,
Santa Lucia and Nicaragua, among others, after the event in
Mazatlan.
Participants in Varadero arena shall find two main courts and
same number of courts for warm up right at the beach and across
from the 82 year-old facility, one of the oldest of this tourist
area.
Standing out for its beautiful architecture, the Varadero Club
Kawama Hotel is largely characterized by its rooms and bungalows
all surrounded by gardens and with a view to the Varadero canal.
Of modern comfort, the hotel maintains its original 1930 style
as when it was first erected. |
