Candelas and Garcia claim victories in Toluca

TOLUCA, México, May 25 2012 — The Mexican Olympic duo of Bibiana Candelas and Mayra Garcia opened the first day of the VI NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit with a victory over Nicaragua’s Elia María Torres and Swan Valeria Mendoza 2-0 (21-10, 21-13).

Later in their afternoon match, Garcia and Candelas defeated Brenda Allen-Edinborough and Shancia Dyer, from Saint Kitts and Nevis 2-0 (21-7, 21-5).

“We are trying to do our best, always making adjustements to modify them on the next events, this is because the next one will be the Olympic Qualifier, and we hope to do things right”, said García about the performance an expectations in this tournament.

At the same time, Martha Revuelta and Vanessa Virgen of Mexico-2 defeated Diana Romero and Marcela Davalos of El Salvador 2-0 (21-9, 21-11). The last stop’s champions, Ion Canet and Narian Sinal of Cuba won against Ayana Dyette and Elki Phillip from Trinidad and Tobago 2-1 (21-13, 21-17) and also defeated Puerto Ricans Dariam Acevedo and Tatiana Encarnacion 2-0 (21-12, 21-11).
