Men’s U23 Pan American Cup headed to Cuba
HAVANA, Cuba, July 10, 2023. – The fifth edition of the Men’s U23 Pan
American Cup is headed to Cuba, to be held at Ciudad Deportiva Coliseum
in Havana from July 11 -15.
Chile, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and host Cuba are
registered for the event that marks the beginning of the qualification
process towards the 2025 Pan American Junior Games.
Two (2) direct tickets for the 2025 Pan American Junior Games will be
granted to the top placed NORCECA teams in the final ranking of the
event.
Cuba has won two gold medals since the inception of the event in 2012,
winning over Mexico on both occasions in 2014 and the past edition in
2018. Brazil and Argentina have one gold medal each.
Teams will play a round-robin preliminary round, qualifying the first
and second places to the gold medal match on Sunday July 16.
Three daily matches are scheduled (local time) starting on Tuesday July
11 with Chile against Nicaragua at 10:00am, Peru against Cuba at 12:00
noon and Mexico facing Dominican Republic at 2:00pm.
