Men’s U23 Pan American Cup in Paramaribo, Suriname
PARAMARIBO, Suriname, September 11, 2024.- Eight national teams are
headed to Paramaribo, Suriname, for the 2024 Men’s U23 Pan American Cup
from September 16-21 at the Anthony Nesty Sporthal.
Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic are in Pool A, Guatemala, Peru, St.
Vincent and the Grenadines, and host Suriname are in Pool B.
Two (2) direct tickets for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games will be
granted to the top placed NORCECA teams in the final ranking of the
event who are not yet qualified.
Cuba and Dominican Republic, first and second place of the 2023 edition
of the U23 Pan American Cup, earned their berth to the Junior Pan
American Games to take place in Asunción, Paraguay in 2025
Cuba has won the event in three occasions since its inception in 2012,
winning over Mexico in 2014 and 2018, and over the Dominican Republic
last year. Argentina, Brazil and Mexico have one gold medal each.
Teams will play a round-robin preliminary round, qualifying the first
and second places to the to the semifinals.
