Men's Beach Volleyball Gets Underway at Santo Domingo 2026
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 25, 2026. – The men's
beach volleyball tournament at the 2026 Central American and
Caribbean Games Santo Domingo got underway with six straight-set
victories across the opening day of pool play.
In
Pool A, Venezuela's Esyenser Delgado and Oscar Kirchner opened
with a convincing 2-0 (21-10, 21-8) victory over Grenada's
Darron Oxford and Jonell Phillip.
Defending champions Mexico, with Carlos Ayala and Antonio Lares,
began their title defense with a 2-0 (21-12, 21-12) win over
Jesario Ebanks and Dylan Lynee of the Cayman Islands in Pool B.
Costa Rica's Julián Araya and Stanley Grant also earned a
straight-set victory, defeating Bermuda's Benjamín Barnett and
Connor Somerville 2-0 (21-7, 21-10).
In
Pool C, Nicaragua's Jefferson Cascante and Rubén Mora, silver
medalists at the previous edition of the Games, defeated
Martinique's Noah Choux and Elowan Choux 2-0 (21-8, 21-9), while
Puerto Rico's William and Daniel Rivera swept Honduras' Jairo
Gálvez and Irven Reyes 2-0 (21-10, 21-4).
Pool D also featured two straight-set victories. El Salvador's
Rafael and Gabriel Vargas defeated Antigua and Barbuda's Miguel
Peña and Raenor Sharpe 2-0 (21-8, 21-10), while Cuba's Damián
Gómez and Eblis Veranes overcame Belize's Ernest Broaster and
Francis Hauze 2-0 (21-11, 21-12).
